In May 2021, The Potamkin Prize expanded to launch the Potamkin Prize for Students. This annual scholarship supports the education of young researchers and future scientists. By connecting students with professional scientists at the height of their careers, cross-generational collaboration is built.

The scholarship is awarded at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, the oldest and most prestigious high school science fair in the world with over 1,800 students participating. Founded in 1921 as Science Service by journalist Edward W. Scripps and zoologist William Ritter, the Society communicates, fosters and advances the public understanding of science.

Each year, three previous Potamkin Prize winners serve as our panel of judges. This creates relationships between generations of scientists by exposing young students to professionals and introducing professionals to the innovative work these students are doing.
