Friends of Miami Animals (FoMA)

Friends of Miami Animals Foundation (FOMA) is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of homeless and at-risk pets in Miami-Dade County by supporting a range of lifesaving and welfare initiatives. They work closely with Miami-Dade Animal Services and local rescue partners to enrich the lives of shelter pets, promote adoptions, and strengthen shelter care.

Their efforts include funding spay and neuter programs and trap-neuter-release efforts for community cats to reduce overpopulation, providing financial and programmatic support to rescue groups, and offering outreach that helps keep pets healthy and in their homes.

Through education, advocacy, and collaborative partnerships, FoMA aims to reduce shelter intake, improve animal welfare, and engage the community in compassionate care for animals.

Since 2016, Friends of Miami Animals Foundation has been a leader in animal welfare issues. We help build effective programs, establishing meaningful collaborations and engaging leaders and the community to save and improve the lives of homeless pets.

FoMA is leading the way towards the elimination of pet homelessness and suffering in Miami-Dade County by addressing underlying issues contributing to pet overpopulation and abandonment. Through partnerships, spay and neuter programs, volunteer and foster initiatives, as well as public awareness and education, FoMA is a leader in animal welfare in our community.

Wellness on Wheels

FoMA is proud to introduce one of its largest projects to save and improve the lives of at-risk pets. The WOW (Wellness on Wheels) Mobile, a movable veterinary clinic continues to provide free wellness veterinary care for owned dogs and cats in veterinary deserts throughout Miami-Dade County.

In partnership with Miami Dade County Animal Services, the WOW is entering year two of a three-year commitment by the Friends of Miami Animals Foundation, ASD, and our County to provide access to wellness care for our county pets.
